Now actually racing to Trinidad!

Around the World in Books

Setting off today!

I have 2 minutes left in the day to start A Bend in the River. Finished Operation Shylock with a half hour to spare and got waylaid by tofu.

Really enjoyed Operation Shylock, and Roth messes with your mind up to the last sentence.

Naipal begins, “The world is what it is; men who are nothing, who allow themselves to become nothing, have no place in it.”  Promising start. But now I have to go make the cat stop eating the gingerbread house. Or at least document the destruction.

Happy New Year. I’m going to go read!
